Weskant Weskant

Terms

Est. August 2026. These terms apply to this website and to any sale we accept.

Application of these terms

By placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Sale and Weskant’s Shipping, Refunds and Privacy Policies. Please keep a copy. The version in effect when Weskant accepts your paid order will govern that sale.

These terms form a contract between you and Weskant. You accept them by placing and paying for an order.

A product listing is an invitation to place an order, not an offer that Weskant is obliged to accept. Completing checkout does not mean that an order has been accepted. A sale is concluded when Weskant sends you written confirmation that the successfully paid order has been accepted.

You purchase from Weskant. Couriers, payment providers, manufacturers and trade suppliers used by Weskant assist with payment, fulfilment, delivery or warranty processes, but they are not your seller.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to place an order.

Who you are dealing with

Weskant is a South African sole proprietorship operated by a natural person trading as Weskant. It was established in August 2026, is not a company or close corporation, has no CIPC registration number and is not registered for VAT.

Weskant trades online only. There is no walk-in shop or public collection counter.

Website: https://www.weskant.co.za. Email: info@weskant.co.za.

The proprietor’s full name, telephone number, physical address and address for service of legal documents are published on Weskant’s Privacy page as part of the supplier information required by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Weskant does not belong to a self-regulatory or accreditation body, subscribe to a named code of conduct, or participate in a named alternative-dispute-resolution scheme.

Complaints should first be submitted to info@weskant.co.za. If a complaint cannot be resolved, a qualifying consumer may approach the National Consumer Commission at https://thencc.org.za/ or another body with jurisdiction.

Using the website

You may use the website only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to damage, overload, scrape, probe or gain unauthorised access to the website, another person’s account or Weskant’s systems. You may not use the website to send unsolicited or harmful communications.

Product information, prices and availability may change before an order is accepted.

Product images are illustrative. Where an image differs from the written product description, the written model number, colour, finish, specifications and included accessories will take priority, subject to applicable law.

Weskant takes reasonable care when publishing product information. However, technical, pricing, typing or image errors may occur. The section on stock, errors and acceptance explains how errors affecting paid orders will be handled.

Products and product-specific requirements

Weskant sells technology, electronics, appliances and everyday essentials. Products are supplied in the manufacturer’s original packaging. Weskant does not remove goods from that packaging before dispatch.

Specifications, features and prices are subject to errors and omissions. Weskant may correct a typing or supplier error. A price displayed on another website or price-comparison service is not a promise by Weskant.

Installation, assembly, wall-mounting, plumbing, gas work, electrical work and configuration are not included unless the product page expressly states otherwise.

Back up all data before returning a computer, phone, tablet, storage drive, printer, camera or similar device. Weskant does not keep or recover your data.

Some software, recordable media, consumables, cables and cartridges may carry no additional manufacturer warranty. Some power adaptors, batteries, entry-level power supplies, projector lamps and remote controls may carry a shorter manufacturer warranty, commonly three months, unless the product page states otherwise.

Any manufacturer warranty is additional to the customer’s applicable statutory rights and does not remove or reduce those rights.

Battery capacity and performance reduce through normal charge and discharge cycles. Normal wear, exhausted rated cycles and capacity reduction consistent with the manufacturer’s specifications are not manufacturing defects.

The further product-specific conditions below form part of these terms wherever they apply to the product purchased.

Televisions

Where South African law requires a valid television licence or other prescribed authorisation before a television may be supplied, fulfilment will be subject to successful verification.

Weskant may hold or cancel the television portion of an order if the required verification cannot be completed. Any refund due will be processed in accordance with these terms and applicable law.

Solar, battery, inverter and electrical equipment

Unless the product page expressly states otherwise, Weskant supplies the equipment only and does not design, install, commission or certify the customer’s electrical or solar installation.

Products must be selected, installed, configured and commissioned according to the manufacturer’s instructions; equipment compatibility requirements; applicable electrical and safety standards; and all legal certification requirements.

Where a Certificate of Compliance is legally required, it must be issued by a registered person.

A warranty claim involving equipment connected to a fixed electrical installation must include the applicable Certificate of Compliance. Weskant may also request an installer’s report, commissioning records, system photographs, configuration information or test results.

Installation-related faults must first be referred to the responsible installer.

Damage caused by incorrect installation, incompatible equipment, incorrect settings, reversed polarity, over-voltage, inadequate protection, unlawful electrical work, misuse or unauthorised modification is not an inherent product defect.

This does not exclude a claim concerning a proven inherent defect that is unrelated to the installation.

Prices and charges

Prices are stated in South African rand.

Weskant does not show or charge a separate VAT amount because Weskant is not registered for VAT.

The total amount payable, including delivery and any optional additional courier cover selected by you, will be displayed before you confirm the order. Weskant will not add an undisclosed charge after confirmation.

Prices may change while you browse. Once Weskant accepts a paid order, the accepted price applies unless it resulted from a genuine pricing or listing error.

Stock availability, errors and order acceptance

All orders are subject to stock availability and successful supplier confirmation. Supplier stock feeds and product information can change before Weskant completes an order.

If an item becomes unavailable after payment, Weskant will offer an available substitute. You may accept the substitute and settle or receive any price difference, or decline it and receive a refund for the unavailable item.

If a genuine pricing, specification or description error affects an order, Weskant may refuse or cancel the affected item. Any amount already paid for that item will be refunded.

Weskant may refuse or cancel an incomplete, unlawful, fraudulent or suspicious order.

An order is accepted only when Weskant sends the customer written confirmation that the successfully paid order has been accepted. A payment receipt or automated acknowledgement confirms receipt only and does not itself constitute acceptance.

Payment

Payment must be completed before dispatch. Weskant does not supply goods on credit unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.

Available payment methods are displayed at checkout and processed by the identified South African payment service provider.

Weskant does not store full card numbers on its website. Your bank statement may display Weskant or the payment provider’s transaction descriptor.

An unpaid or unsuccessful order may be cancelled.

Before final submission, checkout allows you to review the order, correct errors and withdraw. Please retain the electronic order confirmation as your transaction record.

Delivery

Timing, cost, proof of delivery, extra cover and where risk passes are on the Shipping page.

Returns

Dead-on-arrival, cooling-off, manufacturer warranty, unclaimed goods, statutory defect rights and how to start a return are on the Refunds page. Those rights come from the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and the Consumer Protection Act. These terms do not limit them.

Liability and other loss

Weskant is not responsible for loss or damage caused by misuse, abuse, incompatible equipment, incorrect installation, unlawful work, unauthorised modification or failure to follow safety and manufacturer instructions.

To the extent permitted by law, Weskant is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of data.

Where Weskant is liable and the law permits a monetary limit, liability is limited to the amount paid to Weskant for the goods or service that gave rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that may not lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from Weskant’s gross negligence or applicable product-safety and consumer-protection obligations.

Intellectual property

The website, its design and Weskant-created content belong to Weskant.

Product brands, photographs and third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.

You may use the website to browse and, when checkout is enabled, place orders. You may not reproduce or commercially exploit the website or its content without permission or another lawful basis.

Privacy

Weskant’s Privacy Policy explains how personal information, including payment and delivery information, is handled.

Weskant uses service providers to host the website, send communications, process payments and deliver parcels.

Weskant does not sell personal information. Marketing and newsletter subscriptions, where offered, are opt-in and may be cancelled.

Changes to these terms

Weskant may update these terms and will change the effective date when it does.

The version displayed on the website applies to browsing and new orders. The version in effect when Weskant accepted a particular paid order will continue to govern that sale.

Governing law and contact

South African law applies, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 where applicable.

A dispute may be brought before a court, tribunal, ombud or other body that has jurisdiction under applicable law.

Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from using a forum or remedy available by law.

Questions and complaints concerning these terms may be sent to info@weskant.co.za.

Product-specific conditions

These conditions apply in addition to the Shipping and Refunds pages. They do not remove or reduce any right under South African law. They explain the practical requirements for particular products and distinguish an inherent defect from damage caused by use, wear, installation or an outside cause.

Software, licences, firmware and updates

Once software, a digital licence or sealed storage media, including a disc or pre-installed licence key, has been opened, activated or downloaded, the cooling-off right does not apply where the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act excludes that transaction.

Software, recordable media, cables, consumables, ink, toner and cartridges may carry no additional manufacturer warranty. A clog, empty cartridge or problem caused by third-party ink is not a defect in the printer.

Weskant is not responsible for problems caused by third-party software, apps, slicers, drivers or operating-system updates. A manufacturer firmware or software update may change how a device works. Installing an update is your choice. Weskant does not support a problem caused only by an update, an incorrect driver or a file loaded by the customer, unless the goods themselves are defective.

Cables, consumables, ink, toner and small parts

Cables, adapters, hubs, connectors, ink, toner, ribbons, paper, discs, memory cards sold as media and similar consumables are sold as supplied. Once a seal is broken, an item is not returnable merely because you changed your mind where an applicable statutory exclusion allows that result.

AAA and AA cells, once purchased and unsealed, are not returnable merely because you changed your mind where an applicable statutory exclusion allows that result.

Batteries, power banks, UPS units, adaptors, remotes and lamps

Power adaptors, batteries, including notebook, UPS, stand-alone, power-bank and inverter batteries, entry-level power supplies, projector lamps and remote controls may carry a short manufacturer warranty, commonly three months, unless the product page states otherwise.

Gel, AGM, lead-acid and other cycle-rated batteries wear out through charge cycles as well as age. Typical high-cycle packs may be in the region of 200 to 300 cycles, but the specifications for the particular product will apply. When the rated cycles are exhausted, that is end of life rather than a defect. Runtime may reduce with age, heat, incomplete charging and frequent load-shedding. A reduction that is consistent with the product’s remaining cycle life and specifications is not a manufacturing defect.

A battery or UPS is intended for ordinary backup during brief interruptions. It is not medical life-support equipment. If a person depends on oxygen or another life-critical device, obtain appropriate medical and technical advice before relying on a backup product. Weskant does not sell these goods for life-support use.

Inverters, solar equipment, generators and related products

An inverter, solar panel, charge controller, solar battery or generator is sold for the use described on its product page. A backup kit described as suitable for occasional load-shedding is not intended for daily charging and discharging. Used in that way, it may reach the end of its service life within months. Normal exhaustion through use is not a manufacturing defect.

Installation must be performed by a person appropriately qualified for electrical and, where relevant, solar or gas work. Damage caused by incorrect installation, an unsuitable cable size or battery type, reversed polarity, incorrect settings, overload, inadequate protection or liquid entering the unit is not an inherent product defect.

Courier extra cover may exclude solar products, inverters, generators and batteries. Selecting extra cover at checkout does not guarantee that the courier will pay a claim concerning an excluded item. The goods nevertheless remain Weskant’s responsibility until delivery, as stated on the Shipping page.

These products can fail like any electrical goods. Charge and use them according to the instructions. They do not guarantee an uninterrupted electricity supply.

The solar, battery, inverter and electrical-equipment section above also applies to these products.

Televisions, monitors, projectors and screens

Many televisions, notebooks, monitors and projectors must be submitted to the relevant brand’s authorised service provider for DOA or manufacturer-warranty assessment and approval. Weskant remains your contact. You may be required to take the unit to the service provider with the original invoice and original packaging, subject to your statutory rights.

Dead pixels are assessed under the manufacturer’s pixel policy, subject to applicable law. A single bright dot is not automatically classified as a defect.

Report cosmetic marks on a screen or bezel when accepting delivery, or as soon as reasonably possible afterwards. A purely cosmetic variation that does not affect use is not necessarily a defect. This does not exclude a statutory claim where the goods fail to meet the legal standard.

Wall mounts, brackets and installation are not included unless the product listing states otherwise. Do not book an installer until the set has been delivered and switched on. Weskant does not ordinarily pay third-party call-out charges, subject to the liability section.

The television-licence section above also applies to televisions.

Computers, laptops, storage devices, phones and tablets

Back up your data before any return or repair. Weskant, its suppliers and the service provider cannot guarantee preservation of data, software or settings during testing, resetting, repair or replacement, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

A custom-built or opened PC, where components have been removed from their original packaging and assembled or altered by you or on your behalf, may lose the additional manufacturer-warranty process for the affected parts.

Water damage, a screen cracked after delivery, unauthorised repair, or a missing charger, SIM or accessory needed for testing may justify refusal of a warranty claim where it caused the fault or prevents a proper assessment.

Printers and networking equipment

Printers are assessed independently of your paper, labels or third-party ink. A jam or poor print quality caused by unsuitable media, an empty cartridge or third-party supplies is not a defect in the printer.

Routers, cameras, network-attached storage devices and servers require correct configuration. Weskant does not configure your network unless the product page states otherwise. Firmware updates remain your choice.

Large appliances, air conditioners, heaters and electric blankets

Fridges, freezers, washing machines, dryers, air conditioners, geysers and similar goods may require installation by a qualified person. Gas, water and fixed-electrical connections are not included unless expressly listed.

A leak, failure to cool or heat following incorrect installation, an uncleared blocked filter, or damage caused by operating the unit while empty is not an inherent product defect.

Heaters, irons, electric blankets and similar goods may cause fire or burns if misused. Follow the instructions. Damage caused by unattended use, a folded electric blanket, a covered heater or incorrect voltage is not an inherent product defect.

Do not use an appliance for medical treatment unless the product page states that this is its intended purpose.

Small appliances and kitchen electrical products

Kettles, toasters, air fryers, microwaves and similar goods must be used with the voltage, water and food for which they are rated. Boiling dry, overfilling, placing metal in a microwave or failing to clear a blocked filter is misuse.

Keep the original packaging. A supplier will ordinarily require it for a DOA or additional manufacturer-warranty claim. Missing packaging does not by itself remove a statutory right.

Glass, ceramic, cookware, bakeware and furniture

Glass, ceramic, stoneware, bakeware and similar breakable goods are fragile. Courier extra cover may exclude them even when they remain in the original box. Report obvious transit damage under the Refunds page.

Once an item has been used on a stove, in an oven or with food, it is not returnable merely because you changed your mind where an applicable statutory exclusion allows that result. Damage caused by thermal shock, dry-heating a non-stick pan, or using a dishwasher contrary to a hand-wash instruction is not an inherent product defect.

Furniture is sold for home assembly unless the product page states that it arrives assembled. Report scratches caused during assembly, or a missing screw not identified on opening, within 48 hours after delivery so that Weskant can investigate promptly. Wood grain, fabric and colour may vary from an image. This reporting period does not remove a statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Fragrances, cosmetics, liquids, cleaning and hygiene products

Candles, wax melts, diffusers, perfume, cosmetics, cleaning liquids and opened hair or baby-care goods are not returnable merely because you changed your mind once opened or used, where an applicable statutory exclusion permits this for hygiene, safety or the nature of the goods.

Courier extra cover may exclude cosmetics and liquids.

Apparel, if offered, is not returnable merely because you changed your mind after it has been worn, stained or washed, where an applicable statutory exclusion permits this. This does not apply if it arrived faulty or was the wrong item.

Outdoor, gas, garden and vehicle products

Braai, gas, camping, pressure-washer and vehicle-sound goods must be used as rated. A gas leak caused by a fitting installed by the customer, damage caused by running a pressure washer without water, or damage caused by fitting vehicle equipment that requires a professional auto electrician is not an inherent product defect.

3D printers, if sold

Weskant does not guarantee the quality of a 3D print. Filament selection, clogs caused by that filament, third-party slicer software, the 3D model used, and normal wear of nozzles, beds and extruders are the customer’s responsibility. Installing manufacturer firmware updates is your choice. Learn how to operate the machine before using it.

A manufacturing defect in the printer itself remains subject to the Refunds page.

Wear and tear

Nozzles, blades, filters, belts, lamps, batteries, seals and similar parts wear through use. A manufacturer warranty, where available, covers manufacturing defects rather than parts that have reached the end of their normal service life.

Compatible extras

Weskant is not responsible for the quality or compatibility of filament, ink, cards, cables or other extras bought elsewhere. If Weskant sold the extra and it is itself defective, the Refunds page applies.

This version applies from 7 September 2026.
